Collaborating | Transforming | Enriching

The theme for the Global Internet Evangelism Network Forum 2009 is Digital Bread: collaborating | transforming | enriching.

Why bread?

Just as bread gathers barely a thought in our daily lives, the Internet is increasingly becoming as prevalent--and as inescapable. In Western cultures, bread connotes nourishment, security, even currency. While Eastern cultures do not have the same longstanding relation, the concept retains the same value and comprehensiveness.

Think about the collaboration of various ingredients, which transform into something distinctly different, transforming into something that extends life, health, happiness, community and growth.

This describes bread, and religion, and the Internet--all at the same time.

Collaboration has been an important part of GiEN, and this year's partnership with our church administration in North America reflects our cooperative resolve. The transformation begins with our forum format. A new, single-track conference schedule will be introduced, building upon the successes of past events. All of this is in hopes that we might enrich your work and mission.

Whether evangelist, communicator, or technologist, the goal is to gain awareness, perspective and connections that leave you better than before. Attend GiEN Forum 2009, and experience "digital bread" firsthand.
